Usernames must only include letters, numbers, underscores (_), and hyphens (-). Avoid spaces. For example:

  • Incorrect: My Username
  • Correct: My-Username or My_Username
    Usernames must also be unique. If your desired username is already in use, please select a different one.
Why does it say my email address is already in use?

This message indicates that there is already an account associated with your email address. If you’ve forgotten your password, use the ‘Forgot Password’ feature to regain access.

How do I place a bid?

To place a bid on an auction lot, you have two options: Submit Max Bid or Quick Bid. Each option is designed to fit different bidding strategies, whether you want to set a limit and step away or actively participate in the bidding process.

Submit Max Bid: Set the maximum amount you’re willing to pay. The system will bid incrementally on your behalf, keeping you as the highest bidder up to your limit.

  • How It Works
    • Enter your maximum bid amount in the input field next to Submit Max Bid.
    • The system will automatically bid for you in small increments, only as needed, to keep you as the highest bidder—up to your max limit.
    • If someone outbids your max, you’ll be notified and can decide whether to place a higher bid.
  • Example
    • Current bid: $100
    • Your Max Bid: $300
    • Other bidders compete: The system automatically increases your bid incrementally (e.g., $110, $120) until it reaches $300.
    • If bidding exceeds $300, you’ll no longer be the highest bidder.

What is proxy bidding?

How do I know if I’ve won an auction?

Check for a notification email or login and visit My Activity > Won in your account to confirm if you have won the auction.

What happens if I’m outbid?

You will be notified by email and, if applicable, a push notification from the MachineryMax app. You can place higher bids until the auction closes or use the Max Bid function to automatically adjust your bids.

Can I withdraw a bid?

Once a bid is placed, it cannot be withdrawn. We advise you to carefully review all bids before confirming. If you believe a bid was placed in error, contact our support team immediately.

What is the difference between auctions and direct purchases?

MachineryMax Auctions: Items are sold to the highest bidder through a timed auction. You can place bids during the auction period or set a Max Bid to let the system automatically bid on your behalf up to your limit. When the auction ends, the highest bidder wins, provided the reserve price is met. It’s a fast-paced, competitive process that may secure you equipment below market value.

Direct Purchases on MachineryMax Marketplace: Marketplace items are not sold via public bidding. Instead, buyers submit sealed bids directly to MachineryMax for consideration. If an end time is posted, the highest bid over the reserve will be evaluated after the deadline. If no bidding is open, you can submit an inquiry to ask questions or express interest. It’s a private, negotiation-driven process designed for flexibility and discretion.

How do I make a direct purchase?

You can either submit a Sealed Bid or Submit an Inquiry, depending on the marketplace listing’s status.

Submit a Sealed Bid:

  • If the listing includes an end time:
    1. Select the item you’re interested in.
    2. Click the Submit Sealed Bid button.
    3. Enter your bid amount and a message, then submit.
    4. Your bid is private and reviewed after the deadline. The highest qualifying bid over the reserve price will be considered.

Submit an Inquiry:

  • If the listing does not have an end time:
    • Click the Submit Inquiry button.
    • Fill in your name, contact info, and message.
    • MachineryMax will follow up with more details or next steps via email.
Can I negotiate a price?

Yes. On MachineryMax Marketplace listings, you can negotiate by submitting a Sealed Bid if an end time is shown. Your bid remains private and is reviewed after the listing closes. If there is no end time, you can submit an inquiry to express interest or ask about pricing. MachineryMax will follow up directly to discuss next steps.

What payment methods are accepted?

Yes, a Buyer’s Premium is applied to all purchases on MachineryMax. This fee is clearly displayed in the terms and again on the bid confirmation popup before you place your bid. Sales tax may also apply depending on the item’s location and your business’s tax-exempt status. All applicable fees and taxes will be itemized on your invoice for full transparency.

Is there a mobile app for MachineryMax?
