SCM F410 Nova 16" Jointer with "Tersa" 4-knife Cutterhead System

The Nova F 410 is a heavy duty, long bed 16” jointer designed to meet the needs of the most demanding environments. It features cast iron tables, tilting fence, and a quick change Xylent cutterhead. This technology gives an exacting finish while reducing ambient noise decibel output significantly.

Extra Long Cast Iron Tables
All SCM Jointers use aged cast iron tables that are machine polished to the highest tolerances. These castings are ribbed to ensure maximum strength and to avoid problems with the tables warping or breaking during use. The longer tables ensure board straightness. Our tables are over 102 inches to make sure that the workpiece will be straight every time.

Parallelogram Table Movement
All SCM Jointers incorporate a parallelogram movement of the infeed and outfeed tables. This system has the table height adjustment through a system of four cams (one per corner of support) that pivot on a radius equal to the head radius. This radius pivot ensures that the table chip breaker remains in the correct position from the head. 

American Cutterhead Guard
Shown here, the standard guard offered on SCM Jointers is a spring type guard which always covers the unused portion of the knife. Other European style guards require the guard to be manually moved into place when the fence is readjusted. When processing thick wood, this does not cover the blade as completely.

Note: The European guard and additional overturning fence attachment do not come standard on the Nova F 410. The Nova F 410 comes standard with an American guard and fence that meet U.S. OSHA requirements.
